Calling All Volunteers / Crew
Want to be a part of our crew for the 2021 Deer Park Porchfest?
Are you interested in helping us get things organized? Volunteering on the day of the event?
If working behind the scenes is where you excel, we need you! We will need help with performance mapping, Louisville Metro interactions, neighborhood interactions, volunteer coordination for the day of the event, promotion (social media gurus needed), and organizing refreshments and restrooms. If you want to help out on the day of the event, with traffic control, answering questions and providing information, checking on the various venues around the neighborhood, helping out with merchandise sales, and more that we haven't even thought about yet, you can sign up here!
Crew Requirements (friendly faces interested in assisting with the day of the event logistics):
Be available on July 17th, 2021 from 12:00-6:00; Porchfest runs from 1-5pm.
As a Porchfest goodwill ambassador, be willing to donate your time.
Shift assignments will be sent out at a later date. All shifts are in pairs.
Shifts are typically 2 hours each and many requiring standing for that time.
Some duties include: collecting donations, keeping the bands on schedule, assisting homeowners, crowd safety monitoring and break-down of signage.
The event will be organized following Kentucky/Louisville Metro guidelines regarding COVID-19, including social distancing and mask wearing. We will work with bands and hosts to implement requirements, as needed. More details regarding this, as well as the possibility of postponement, will be circulated the week before the scheduled date.
As a thank you, all crew members will receive a token of our appreciation!
Deer Park Neighborhood Porchfest

We envision a low-key music festival with a variety of mostly acoustic, low volume (no loud bands or heavy amplification) music, just loud enough to be heard by those in the immediate vicinity. Neighbors would host entertainers on their porches. It is an opportunity to support, promote, and discover local artists. It will (after COVID) be an opportunity to get together with friends and neighbors.
We have an idea, now we need to put together a plan to make it reality. Lots to do!! This could be really fun!!

Are you a musician, or do you know musician that might be interested in performing? Would you like to volunteer your porch to bring some music to the neighborhood?
When I close my eyes I can hear the music and the sun on my face (and I’m writing this as snow and ice is falling from the sky and boating the roadways).
