Calling All Artists

Want to perform at the 2021 Deer Park Porchfest?

We are looking for talented local artists from various genres who are interested in being part of the magic. From solo to ensembles, we welcome all. This is not a paid gig, you are permitted to sell merchandise and collect tips during your set time; however, everyone involved donates their time and talent. All performers will receive an artist spotlight on our Facebook and webpage as well as be featured on our lineup poster and official map.

Performance Requirements:

  • Be available on July 17th, 2021 for a time slot from 1-5pm.

  • Hold the date through the open call window (April-July).

  • Fill out the online form.

  • As a Porchfest goodwill ambassador, be willing to donate your set time (sets time to be assigned).

  • Perform at an appropriately low volume for a family-friendly, neighbor-friendly audience. Less amplification is better – we have to be considerate of our neighbors.

  • Bring whatever gear is necessary to perform. No equipment is provided by the event.

  • Accept all liability for your own equipment.

  • Please help your porch hosts keep the peace – audience members should only go where invited.

  • You are permitted to sell merchandise and collect tips during your set.

  • The event will be organized following Kentucky/Louisville Metro guidelines regarding COVID-19, including social distancing and mask wearing. We will work with bands and hosts to implement requirements, as needed. More details regarding this, as well as the possibility of postponement, will be circulated the week before the scheduled date.

  • Get the word out for all of your friends to join!

As a thank you, you’ll be gifted with a token of our appreciation!

Deer Park Neighborhood Porchfest

Porchfest a “free-of-charge neighborhood walkabout where local musicians play and sing music on the beautiful porches of a walkable neighborhood.”

We envision a low-key music festival with a variety of mostly acoustic, low volume (no loud bands or heavy amplification) music, just loud enough to be heard by those in the immediate vicinity. Neighbors would host entertainers on their porches. It is an opportunity to support, promote, and discover local artists. It will (after COVID) be an opportunity to get together with friends and neighbors.

We have an idea, now we need to put together a plan to make it reality. Lots to do!! This could be really fun!!

Is this something you can support? Do you want to be part of the team putting this together? Have you been to a porchfest, or do you have other experience that would be beneficial to this effort? Are you a musician, or do you know musician that might be interested in performing? Would you like to volunteer your porch to bring some music to the neighborhood?

When I close my eyes I can hear the music and the sun on my face (and I’m writing this as snow and ice is falling from the sky and boating the roadways).
